During the Board of Education meeting on April 19th, staff members Ruth Kowalski, Kaitlyn Campshure, and Nikki Giese, and students, Brea L., Emory B., London D., and Aeriela P. showcased their High School Helper program that provides support and mentoring to elementary students within the District. The program began in early January 2022, as National Honor Society students had a goal of tutoring students. There are currently seventeen high school helpers participating in the program, aimed at providing elementary students with a tutor to listen and assist students while they practice, showcase and build confidence in their reading and math skills. The opportunity creates positive partnerships between students, and the excitement for all is evident as they collaborate and connect.
