During the Spotlight On Learning at the Board of Education meeting this month, sixth graders from Marinette Middle School demonstrated a fun activity they participate in to help strengthen their fluency skills called Readers Theater.

Sixth Grade Literacy teacher, Mrs. Lange, along with students Claire N, Lenny P, Tavia H, Landon C, Chet L, Bo D, Emma C, Luisa M, Logan W, Cali P, and Dominique P, read text aloud to the board and attendees to share how inflection, changes in intonation, and pauses for punctuation can help tell a story and support increased understanding and comprehension of text. The students did a great job and really gave attendees and inside look at the excitement and fun that such activities can bring to the learning experience.
