During the Board of Education meeting on February 15th, 3rd Grade Teacher, Traci Leinonen, along with students Dane B, Jaden M, and Erica D, shared how they engaged in a nonfiction lesson where they conducted a research project on an animal of their choice. Mrs. Leinonen and the students shared their processes of engaging in a quality search query to conduct their research and pick sources and how they organized their learning and notes. After conducting their research, they then developed a presentation of their work to share their findings with their classmates. Students had the opportunity to choose how to structure their presentation and to determine which resources they would use to create excitement in their presentations. The students shared the presentations they developed with Board members, highlighting the importance of personalized learning.
